Cravings Driving You Crazy?

Are your cravings driving you crazy? Are you confused and frustrated as to why you even have them? Do you feel like you’ve tried everything to banish them already?

This blog post is especially for you then…

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or Tapping can be used in many life-changing ways. It is one of my favorite tools in my coaching toolbox and has changed the lives of hundreds of my clients and millions of people on this planet. Even Whoopi Goldberg has had success with it and talks about it in this latest news story here.

In this news story, you’ll learn about how EFT can stop cravings in mere minutes. So, if you are craving a Snickers bar or a glass of wine right now, I bet you would love to be able to easily tap that craving away with EFT.

Here’s the basic set-up statement for how to implement EFT:
Even though I am craving (insert your craving), I love and accept myself….

EFT is very effective for your cravings. You can do this with me in a class or find several videos on YouTube to do this.

But why are you having this craving in the first place?
What’s really behind that craving?
Maybe it’s emotional or maybe it’s your brain.

Emotional cravings may come from a happy memory associated with a particular food. My best personal example is my craving for hot fudge. I know when I’m craving hot fudge (due to very happy memories of sharing hot fudge cakes at Shoney’s with my Grandpa in Asheville when I was little) that I’m in need of love and comfort. I can then choose from a couple of options: 1. I can give it to the craving and eat the hot fudge 2. I can tap the craving away. 3. I can feel the feelings 4. I can soothe myself in another way such as calling an understanding friend.

But what if there’s more to it than that?

When I first became an EFT Practitioner, the only tool I had was basic tapping as described above, which as I mentioned can sometimes be sufficient. But, I have since honed in on a couple of additional techniques to work directly on the memory as described with Grandpa and that has helped even more.

Now I’ve started training in Neuro Nutrition Therapy (NNT).

Neuro Nutrition Therapy is the use of targeted amino acids (the building blocks of protein) to boost neurotransmitters in the brain. There are four basic neurotransmitters – serotonin, GABA, catecholamines, and endorphins. When you are deficient in one or more of these neurotransmitters, you may crave certain substances for your brain to get the boost it needs. Sugar and starchy foods are the main culprits in this type of craving for us emotional eaters. Wine fits in here, too. When you’re low in serotonin, you may feel ‘the dark cloud of depression’. If you’re low in GABA, you may feel ‘anxiety and stress’. If you’re low in catecholmines (CATS for short), you may be left feeling ‘the blahs’. And if you’re low in endorphins you can feel ‘oversensitive’. Check out The Mood Cure website where you can learn more about neurotransmitters and your brain. It’s fascinating and encouraging to know that sometimes those cravings are just your brain letting you know that it needs a little help.

I’m excited to be offering NNT to clients now and will be introducing this life-changing new addition to my work this Thursday night in my revised and revamped class, Kick Your Cravings Out the Door. Please call or text me today at 704-301-4714 to sign up and learn about all three of these methods of releasing and letting go of cravings today. This will be a small intimate group so pre-registration is required.

Whatever is causing your cravings, there is help and hope. You don’t have to be a slave to your cravings anymore.
